Logan's First Birthday!

9-22-10, Logan's Birthday! We celebrated before church!
He opened his very first present from Aunt Laura! Thanks Aunt Laura (you know I love getting educational toys!!!)
My mom and I made his Elmo cake. There was also a Big Bird cake for everyone else. Not too bad for my first cake decorating experience!
I think for christmas we are just going to wrap existing toys in tissue paper bags! He will never know but he will have a great time!

The love of his life, Miss Avery Marie (being shy here)
And, our messy (looking like he killed Elmo) family cake picture!
Thank you to everyone who came and helped and celebrated our little blessing's first birthday!

Well, as much as I tried to freeze time and make him stay 11months old for a while, it just did not happen. So, Wednesday, September 22, 2010 came. Daddy and I decorated his room with his "Happy Birthday" Sesame Street banner the night before after he fell asleep so that he would have a surprise once he woke up! We took birthday pictures with his Elmo party hat and mommy cried all the way to work. But, that is ok... it gave it time to sink in and for us to celebrate as a family just mommy, daddy and Logan before his birthday party on Saturday. Family and friends came and it was fun... Logan woke up from his nap to find some guests and he opened presents, had some cake and played with his best friend Avery. We are so very blessed by the miracle God has given us! We cherish him and love him with all our hearts. We are also so very thankful for all of our family and friends in our lives that care so much for Logan and us and who are there to help us along this journey. We may not thank you every day, but you are always in our thoughts and prayers.

Logan's 1 Year Pictures...

He would not cooperate at all with the block! No sitting on it or standing next to it at all. He just wanted to get down and crawl around and play so this was mid-trying to get down and protest the block!

This is my favorite little- man shot. It makes me realize he will me grown up and married before I have time to teach him how to tie his shoes.

I love his smile. So precious, innocent and so him... eventhough he was not showing it that day!
He did not want to participate in the beach activities. He just wanted to get down and play.
I had to throw this one in there because the other 112 pictures look something like this. Eyebrows furrowed, snarl on his face and a mob-look of what are you doing? Do I need to come over there? Get the camera out of my face.
And to the cake scene. Put a plastic tablecloth down and a cake in front of child and let them go at it... this is what the photogropher suggested when I made the appointment. I thought it would be fun, hillarious and a great opportunity for pictures. It was all those things but add in a HUGE mess and child peeing on me as I am trying to clean pounds of never-ending chocolate off of him. Funny.
He knows he probably should not be eating it but oh it tastes so good!
Am I in trouble? Oh with this face, how can he be? I can't wait to make his Elmo cake. I hope it turns out well (or you can at least recognize that it is supposed to be Elmo!).

Preparing for Logan's birthday...

So, as much as I would like to stop time for just a moment, I realize that I can't and my little boog-a-loog will soon be a handsome little one year old. This is crazy, for it seems I just found out I was pregnant and I am sure in no time I will be wondering how he got to double digits. Anyway, we decided that his first birthday is going to be Sesame Street themed and then (of course) I had to see my friend Stacie post about her child's birthday. Which, I must say, I don't know what I would do without Stacie... she has been such an awesome support throughout my bedrest, then introducing us to cloth diapers, etc. Anyway, her daughter Meredith is 3 today (Happy Birthday Meredith) and she got a shirt made for her and it was SO cute that I just had to get one made for Logan. So, I contacted an awesomely talented mom named Melissa and she made a birthday outfit for Logan. It came in last night and it is so cute! He also got some bean bags to play with and they are super cute as well! I am so excited about celebrating our little miracle and having him in our life! He is the biggest blessing and we are so thankful for everyone in our life who helps love him on a daily basis! Here are some pictures of his outfit and bean bags!
