Don't they know what they are doing is wrong?

{I heard this song on the radio this morning and heard it in a new / different context or light. It immediately made me think of the people I work with, the work environment, the day that was surely about to proceed. It honestly made me have a different outlook about it all. This first stanza is so fitting to where and to whom I work with. I am not perfect or even near but you just think, "I can't believe what she said, I can't believe what he did. I mean, don't they realize what they are saying, how wrong they are- how hateful they are? Don't they realize how they are treating me/ others? Then I just realized that maybe they don't- maybe they really have NO idea what should be coming out of their mouths and how they should be treating others. Maybe they do not know God and thus have no idea how they should speak, act or treat others. Then it comes time for a decision on my part. I can love or I can hate (or act a similar way towards them as they do me). I choose love. I may not have always chosen love, for many reasons that are not justified but I do now- and will strive to continue to choose love. After all, hate, disgust, anger, resentment, etc. will get me no where. Instead of any negative feelings towards it, I need to respond with love, His love. I love the part of the song that says, "Oh Father won't You forgive them, they don't know what they've been doing- Oh Father, give me grace to forgive them cause I feel like the one losing." It is so true and what I genuinely pray for- His forgiveness to them for them to be able to see or learn how to conduct themselves appropriately. And, for His forgiveness to me for not only my inappropriate actions and words at times, but also for not always trying to show His mercy, guidance and light in everything I do- which includes speaking and conducting myself as He would. To be more Christ-like. I have failed, but with His guidance and help, I pray that I can change not only my attitude but actions as well. Also, I love in the song where he says, "Lord it doesn't feel right for me to turn a blind eye- though I guess it's not that much when I think of what You've done." In the end, it would be nothing for me to not respond to their ways or join in with inappropriate behavior or comments after all He has done for us. I should be able to dismiss all that is going on around me and not partake in any of it- I just should be able to love on them even if I feel they don't deserve it as God has loved and will always love on me even though I do not deserve it!}

Here are the lyrics:
I can't believe what she said
I can't believe what he did
Oh, don't they know it's wrong
Don't they know it's wrong, yeah
Maybe there's something I missed
But how could they treat me like this
It's wearing out my heart
The way they disregard

This is love, this is hate
We all have a choice to make

Oh, Father won't You forgive them
They don't know what they've been doing
Oh Father, give me grace to forgive them
Cause I feel like the one losing

It's only the dead that can live
But still I wrestle with this
To lose the pain that's mine
Seventy times seven times, yeah
Lord it doesn't feel right
For me to turn a blind eye
Though I guess it's not that much
When I think of what You've done

This is love, this is hate
We gotta a choice to make

Oh Father won't You forgive them
They don't know what they've been doing
Oh Father, give me grace to forgive them
Cause I feel like the one losing, oh no

Why do we think that hate's gonna change their heart
We're up in arms over wars that don't need to be fought
Pride won't let us lay weapons on the ground
We build our bridges up but just to burn them down
We think pain is owed an apology and then it'll stop
Truth be told it doesn't matter if we're sorry or not
Freedom comes when we surrender to the sound
Of Your mercy and Your grace, Father, send Your angels down

Oh Father wont You forgive them
They don't know what they've been doing, oh no
Oh Father, give me grace to forgive them
Cause I feel like the one losing
Yeah, I feel like I've been losing

Oh Father, give me grace to forgive them
Cause I feel like the one losing
I feel like I've been losing

Oh Father, give me grace to forgive them
Cause I feel like the one losing

God has a plan...

Isn't that such an amazing thing? That God has a plan. Because, I don't know about you, but right now, I sure don't. I have no idea where I am going. Well, literally I do, but figuratively, NO EARTHLY IDEA!!!! And for us OCD, Type A peeps, that is just one scary situation. But, what do you do? Well, besides the whole trust God thing which, by the way is SO much easier to hear, say the Preacher say and be like "hey, that is such a good idea, I need to do that-or OH that is so true", then actually doing it is SO much harder. Well I lost track of time but about a couple months ago maybe (?) there came about this whole job opportunity here at the good ol' DOR. I had no intention on even applying. I applied for other jobs here before / during and after this whole shake-up began... but never really even wanted this other job. Then it just kept pressing on me. Also, there was this other job I was kinda stalking... closer to home. Well, at the last minute I applied thinking well for some reason I just feel like I am supposed to be doing this, so I will just do it. Then I get an interview ... (not really a surprise seeing as I am already an employee so they are interviewing everyone). So, I go to the interview with the panel of 6 managers. YES 6!!!!! It was crazy. I had the biggest armpit stains of sweat you could imagine. But, the weirdest thing is that the whole time I was driving to Atlanta, I just had this overwhelming feeling of calmness and that this was where I was supposed to be. It was so weird because I was fully expecting to be nervous. But, I wasn't (not until after I fumbled some of their questions). So, anyway it was just weird. After the interview and fumbling some of the questions, I just didn't know how I felt, but still was weirdly calm about everything. So, came back to Athens and have been doing the day to day ever since. Then was home with Logan last Friday because everyone has been sick and that is when I got the call from HR with the job offer. So, as of June 30 I will no longer be in Athens and I start in Atlanta on July 1... I am excited but also apprehensive/ nervous. I have no idea what to expect or what will happen. Just one of those things where God wants you somewhere and I guess you just have to obey Him and go with it... trust Him and pray that He will lead, guide and direct... Isn't it so wonderful that He has a plan? I know I would be so lost without Him!!!

a hole in the pants at work... in the no-no area... oh yea...

You got it... I had a hole in my pants in the crotch area! OH MY GOODNESS! Thank God that my probably not-so-lovely striped underwear did not see the light of day... AND thank God that laura had a trusty sewing kit in her desk. Who has that? Well, I am glad she did! SO, there I go, off to the NASTY bathroom to teeter on my crocks to sew up my pants... yes I am standing in the stall practically naked trying to sew up the hole. Poor needle had to go there. Anyway. As I stated in an earlier post, that was my first attempt at sewing at that was with a sewing maching, so needles to say my line was all over the place! Oh well, it got stiched up and oh do I hope it stays!
