20 weeks pregnant
Congrats! You almost reached the halfway point. Making it to 20 weeks probably feels pretty darn good. After all, your energy’s high and as long as your partner is up for it, things are probably happening between the sheets. Of course, it wouldn’t be pregnancy if you weren’t experiencing some annoying symptoms. Right now, it’s likely swelling, heartburn and leg cramps, but all of that probably feels insignificant now that you’ve got ultrasound photos of your rapidly developing baby. How cute is that nose? If you found out baby’s sex, you’re in a completely new mindset, are we right? Now, those baby names you’re throwing out are more likely to end up as baby’s, and when you find yourself in a baby store, those little blue or pink outfits aren’t just adorable, they’re must-haves. And since now you can add clothes and other boyish or girlish things to your wish list, week 20 is the time you probably want to start putting together your baby registry too. Happy shopping!
We had our oh-so-anticipated ultrasound scheduled for Tuesday, April 23 but then realized that William had a class that day. So, we called in hopes to get it changed- and, thankfully, they were able to get me in Monday, April 22! We were so thrilled that we were finally going to find out the sex- a day early! So, we get up super early and start packing (from our getaway to Tennessee) and head back earlier than we would have normally. We get about an hour down the street and my mom calls saying that something had happened in the office and they were going to have to reschedule. I was seriously about to cry because I wanted to find out so bad...but I figured I would just see what happened. They were able to get us in at the Northside office instead of Alpharetta. I did forget to take the DVD, but overall we got about 10 pictures so I was very thankful for that (he would not let us get a great picture of his face, but we did get several views of his face). I saw a different doctor than the one I usually see- but I love him as well! He was so great and spent about 20-30 minutes just letting us look at Liam and he went into detail with everything, measuring, telling us what we were looking at, printing pictures of that, etc. It was such a blessing! We saw that everything looks perfect! Praise God! We got a great look at the mouth/ lips and there is no cleft palate/ lip, he measured the leg and they are measuring well (no signs of Down Syndrome), measured literally everything and he is perfect! We watched the heart (all 4 chambers present!), watched the blood flow in and out- watched the blood flow from the umbilical cord, etc. Everything looks fantastic and perfect and we just Praise God for his little miracle that he has entrusted us with! We are not worthy but will try every day to show each of our children His wonderfulness and let His light shine through us.
Liam Connor Knight
(Logan has William's middle name, Andrew so we went with Liam partly because it was the only thing we both liked, but partially because it is WilLIAM- get it?)
His left leg at the top, parts in the middle, and right leg near the bottom
His left arm, hand and face (and umbilical cord on his right side)
This is the right side of his face, ear, right arm and hand on chin
Same, right side
Again, his right side, but you can see his face a little better- and his hand on his forehead/ between his eyes.
And, the shot labeled boy! His left leg near the top, his parts in the middle, and right leg near the bottom!
I also did my 1hr glucose test! I am SO excited and just Praising God that I passed! So, the next appointment is in one month and is the doppler and measurement appointment- BUT I do look forward to my weekly dopplers and talks with my amazing nurse.
