Logan's Progress...

I decided to give a few updates on what Logan is now doing at 8 months old...
  • He is very vocal. He "talks" a lot and is making a wide range of different vowel and consonant sounds.
  • We swear he says dadadada when he gets mad... he scrunches up his face and just belts it. The first time he started we were in the car and he said it (about a month ago) and we looked at each other and just could not say anything. I turned around and grabbed his car seat and said yay! say it again! And, I think I scared him. But in his bouts of talking he will continue to "say" it...
  • a few months ago he was fascinated with sticking out his tongue and now he has progressed to blowing bubbles or making sounds with his tongue/ spitting... yes very classy
  • he refuses to crawl. He gets up on all 4s and just rocks. However, he can definitely get to wherever he wants to go in about 2 seconds flat. He will either roll or scootch or turn in circles, but nonetheless, he is a mover. You cannot take your eyes off him anymore, nor can you leave things on the floor that you could just a few weeks ago!
  • EVERYTHING goes in the mouth! He is very smart and wants to do things himself (i.e. feed himself with the spoon) but has not quite grasped that the spoon part stays in your mouth, not to shove it down your throat.
  • He loves to stand. He started standing about a month ago, pulling himself up and standing and now has gotten very good at it. He gets a huge grin on his face because he knows he has accomplished something and starts laughing and carrying on. He has also started walking, taking steps if you hold his hands. He loves it.
  • He has 4 teeth, two on the bottom and two on the top (the vampire ones) and he seems to be teething now. The bottom 2 came a while ago and the top 2 came a month or so ago and we really sdon't know which ones will rear their heads now... but, hopefully soon because I would like to sleep and have a less fussy baby!
  • He can sit up all by himself but does not like to. I really don't know why. He would much rather be on his stomach or up on all 4s rocking. Who knows.
  • He has conquered the sippy cup. We had been trying and would try a different kind every week and he finally got it about a month ago. Then, I bought one different kind that we did not have and that helped him really get it. Now, he KNOWS how to use them all, but is very spoiled and I think pretends to not sometimes. He drinks prune juice most often (tiny tiny bit with mostly water) to help with his constipation issues.
  • He loves cheerios and sweet potato puffs. Again, KNOWS how to pick them up but would much prefer you place them in his mouth.
  • He loves the dogs. He watches them with great fascination and you can always tell when one (usually Bambi) is near him because he has a special giggle just for that. He will grab their feet (because that is usually what is on his level) and he pets them. We, of course, are teaching him to be easy, but sometimes he does pull out clumps of hair. Why they sit around and tolerate it, I am not so sure.
  • One of the biggest smiles in my heart comes when you tickle him. It is one of the cutest things and loudest most hilarious giggle/laugh in the world.
  • He still barely has hair, which is amazing seeing as William and I both have very thick crazy hair, but I am sure he will wake up with a bunch of it one day.
  • He is the best most wonderful blessing God has ever blessed William and I with and we are so lucky and thankful for Him sending Logan to us. I was not "supposed" to be able to have kids and for God to surprise us with this wonderful joy is way beyond me. It is not always easy, and my house is often a wreck (which is huge for me to get over) but His plan is so much greater than anything we could have ever imagined!!!

My First Time to the Yellow River Game Ranch
My First time in a pool, Mrs. Gina's house.
My First Lime! I was surprised at first then I loved it and would fuss if you took it away!
