The lighting is horrible, I was using the little camera, but I think one gets the point. Just ignore the COMPLETE mess on the table.
Avery went from her crib to a "big girl bed" and thus her room got a tiny make-over. What better way to celebrate the next stage of her princess-ness with revamped letters! They were originally plain white (I have since learned to take before and after pics!)
Her new bedding is pink, purple and green with accents of flowers and butterflys (I am pretty sure, it has been a little bit since I did this) Thus, I tried to match everything to the colors and theme. Also the ribbon is white with polka dots (to add a little more FLARE) and tied in a bow at the top where it is hung on the wall.
The polka dots are two different sizes and are sparkled with glitter! LOVE glitter and can never use it for obvious reasons... and the butterfly is 3D.
I took some wire, spirled it and hot glued it to the back of the "Y" and to the butterfly as if it is flying. I thought it would add a little more pizzaz than just gluing it to the letter.
Next, are Jordan's letters. I LOVED doing his letters so much (I think because it reminded me of doing Logan's and it makes me want to redo his- but I am resisting the urge... and yes, Jordan's look SO much better than Logan's) ... AGAIN, ignore the mess in the background... I cannot effectively craft without everything within reach...or that is what I tell myself...shhhhh!
Rachel and Kyle's theme for Jordan is a jungle theme with sports. So, again I matched the colors to the bedding and took the animals (and their sport) and went with it... I hoped the colors matched, all I had to go off of was the picture on the internet...
Same thing with Avery's "Y", I wanted to make the monkey 3D, so I took the wire, glued it to the back of the "O" and the back of the monkey and VIOLA, there he went, dribbling right out of the "O" about to score the game-winning goal! Well, maybe not, but anyway... I thought it was less boring than glued on... Two sizes of polka dots, I usually just find something lying around that has a good end to dip in paint and go at it...
The giraffe in the bedding or an accessory, I cannot remember, had a score-board around its neck so I thought I would try and re-create it. Add a little something to the second striped letter.
For the animals, I just found the animals that were in the bedding at Hobby Lobby or Michaels and then found the little sports equipment to match what they had in the bedding to go with it at Hob Lob or Michaels too... I used 3D foam to add the gear to the animals so that it would stand out and then hot glued the animals on to the letters *except for the monkey* ... Then, I was wondering how should I hang this?... found some non-girly brown ribbon and some reeds at Michaels one day and it was perfect to complete the jungle theme!
*I LOVE doing letters. I am currently doing a bookshelf to match Jordan's letters. Pictures to come. If you would like some letters, just let me know!
