So, Me and my AWESOMELY hott date (Dena B) are going to a wedding Sept. 15 and since Pinterest and Etsy have become boredom busters at work, I saw some trees that act as an alternative to guest sign-ins and thought they were awesome and really, how hard could it be to make a tree? So, I asked the Bride-to-be if she would like one... and she did! I was so excited... then I quickly became nervous because I have never drawn a tree nor painted on canvas. So, I started my journey and this is where I am now... I will update the final pics when I am finished and at the wedding... (FYI each guest puts their finger print on as a leaf...)
Step 1: Sketch the tree from desired picture
Step 2: Begin painting.. it helps to have the right paint the first time. It took me several coats to get it where I wanted it.
Step 3: Cut out title, name & date with cricuit, trace, then paint free hand or with paint pen to save time and have more precise lines.
Step 4: Go back through and erase as much of the pencil as possible, add heart, embellish, etc.
*I will add more pics when I am finished... not there yet, and all these pics are with camera from phone so they are not very good... * UPDATE!!!!
THE BIG DAY CAME!!!! So, here are some pics!!!
The tree... starting to get some leaves...
The bride and groom adding their prints! Theirs were blue... it honestly did not come out as good as I had hoped, I think paint would have "looked" better but seeing as paint + wedding dress = potential disaster, maybe it is best to stick with ink? oh well... I learned a lot with this first one and I hope to do more! I wish we could do one with homecoming and have a huge one with all the church peeps on it! wouldnt't that be pretty sweet? Anyway....
So, then I had to break out the stuff and make some birds. Which may seem pretty simple, which I thought then I realize I have never made birds before. SO here they are. Then I wanted to make little wedding love birds. So she (Erin) was wearing a pearl necklace so I tried to duplicate that.... I was not going to dare a veil. Was gonnna go for a top hat but didn't want to over - do it. so , this is what it came out as. They have feet, but you can's see them in the pic.
